Jane Smith is a designer/maker and teacher working with glass and
ceramic from her studio and gallery at the award winning eco-building
Jubilee wharf in Penryn, Cornwall.
Her work reflects her passion for the patterns formed by both the
natural and man-made environment. A key element of her work emphasises
the importance of balance and harmony, both aesthetically and
physically.
Jane studied at Dartington College of Art and then Birmingham City
University gaining a BA Hons in Ceramics and Glass. She has been working
with glass for over 20 years and has extensive teaching experience
including; 8 years as an Art instructor with social services, 3 years
teaching in a private School and 10 years lecturing at Cornwall college.
Currently, Jane is focusing on large commissioned pieces whilst studying
for her MA at Plymouth College of Art. She offers specialist courses
from her workshop at Jubilee wharf and is also producing an eco-designer
range of homeware available from Gallery 2wo. |
