Happy Chinese New Year!

Our first feature window of 2019 is inspired by Chinese New Year.  Illustration artist Dom Tsoi was invited to collaborate  with us. 

Dom is a local freelance artist, specialising in drawing.  He graduated with a BA Illustration at Plymouth College of Art and Design with a First.  After graduating, he found himslef producing commissions and various different projects such as: murals, designs, posters, prints, covers, storyboards and comics.

Throughout his studies, he was drawn to discovering more about his background and culture, learning the Chinese history and arts.  Inspired and influenced by the many meanings and tradtions they follow such as mythology, beliefs and celebrations. 

The most popular and well known celebration is the "Chinese New Year".  2019 is the Year of the Pig.  Occupying the last position in the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals, Pig is mild and a lucky animal representing carefree fun, good fortune and wealth.  Personality traits of the people born under the sign of the Pig are happy, easy going, honest, trusting, educated, sincere and brave.
