HRH Prince Charles Visits Mariecurie Hospice in Penarth

We were overjoyed to be asked by Mariecurie Wales to make and design a plaque to commemorate their 60th Anniversary. Even more exciting was finding out it was to be unveiled by HRH Prince Charles and we were invited to the exciting occassion!

Mariecurie wanted a design that would be beautiful, and reflect their proximity to the sea. It also needed to fit in with existing glass that they had in their foyer. Both Cathy and Angelina worked on the piece, designing a fabulous flowing wave. Lots of irridecent glass and flakes were used to give lots of movement and texture to the piece. The piece had two fuses in the kiln, before being hand painted with the commemorative text and having a further lower firing. The final piece was stunning! We were so proud to see HRH Prince Charles unveil our work!
