GLASS BY DESIGN WAS A SPARK OF AN IDEA DISCUSSED ON THE BACK OF AN ENVELOPE.

This was when Angelina & Cathy worked together & ran another local art project; namely The Penarth Open Studio Trail from 2013. They realised the great potential for bringing a unique business to the area by sharing their love & addiction to all things glass & the processes behind making with workshops.

They deliver most of their workshops in & around Penarth. These are all bookable here.

You may also currently meet them through the Lottery funded project for Health & Well Being, held around the Vale of Glamorgan & Cardiff alongside various charities.

We are delighted that The National Lottery have decided to support us again with this important work & we are now in the process of delivering a two year funded project that is designed to give continuity to those we have worked with over the last year & also support others who will benefit.’

They will both design unique pieces of glass to commission from their home studios.

ANGELINA HALL

"I still find creating a special wall, window, door panel or special gift inspiring. To take places and things of interest and pull them together into a unique design is very exciting."

Angelina has been working with glass for over 20 years and has gained a wealth of experience. She has worked on a number of prestigious commissions and has exhibited her work widely. Whatever the requirements, she will work with clients to design something very special, while always aspiring to offer a very personal service. Angelina does not use pattern books and you can be assured, each piece is not repeated.

CATHY O'DOHERTY

"I get my inspiration from the things I love, be that colour, sport, landmarks, games , words & music. I quite often add text to the glass. I make all sorts of bespoke dishes, wall art and mosaics. Lately I have become the 'coaster queen' supplying local golf, tennis and sailing clubs their bespoke awards!"

Cathy is the person behind 'Cod Glass'. She has been working with glass for about 20 years. Her work is quirky, colourful & often has an element of humour running through it. All items are handmade in her studio. She loves to design from scratch & most items can be personalised.
